Five Reasons To Dive

Sharing The Best Reasons To SCUBA Dive

Share Five Reasons To Dive with a friend!

At LeisurePro, we believe SCUBA diving is one of the most amazing activities we can take part in. To increase awareness of our sport, please share your top five reasons to dive and encourage your friends to come see your list, add their comments, vote on your list and share your list with their friends.

LeisurePro's Five Reasons To Dive:

1SCUBA diving allows us to see the other 70% of our planet which many claim is less well explored than our solar system. 2Diving allows us to travel to exotic locations, many of which are sunny and beautiful, but all have their own charm and memories that last a lifetime. 3When underwater, it is incredibly quiet and your concentration is highly focused. It's very calming while being incredibly exhilarating. 4Divers are part of a giant "tribe". You can go on a dive trip alone, but within the first day you'll have made incredible friends that could last a lifetime. 5SCUBA equipment is fun. There are always new toys and innovations and new certification classes, so there's never a dull day in diving.

Nick Cohron’s Top Five Reasons To Dive

    1. Close to nature and God- quiets all the voices in my head to be present in the moment and rever creation.
    2. Time with family- my little girl is not so little any more. This is a more grown up way to experience my daughter for the wife and I before she leaves the nest.
    3. Exercise without “exercising”- get a real workout and lose weight without mind numbing boredom in the gym.
    4. Meet good people- I have met some really good folk while diving. It just seems to bring out the best in people. Yes, I have met some folks that took unnecessary risk, but no one that I would not share a beer with after the dive and swap sea stories.
    5. No phone, no beeper, no Internet- self explanatory.

Jack B’s Top Five Reasons To Dive

    1. I love being out on the ocean. Salt Life to the core.
    2. When I grew up, my parents took me tide pooling. Diving is tide pooling on steroids. It’s amazing what lies under the surface.
    3. I love stretching myself, learning new things, seeing new things, experiencing new things. There’s a quote out there “if a picture is worth a thousand words then an experience is worth a thousand pictures” Diving exemplifies that for me.
    4. Diving relaxes me. None of my “above the surface” pressures follow me. No blackberry, no deadline, no meetings. Just focused on the diving, being safe, and enjoying all that surrounds me.
    5. The people I’ve met. Either fellow divers, or dive shops, or service providers. I’ve met the greatest people through diving.

    1. I love the sensation of being underwater… that weightlessness when you hover and glide along with the current, feels so graceful and the fact that you can move in three dimensions rather than just two is fantastic. I guess that is the dancer in me coming out once more.
    2. I love seeing new and exciting sea life, from teeny tiny nudibranchs, to big meaty sharks.
    3. Every dive is different, no two dives will ever herald the same sightings, same conditions, or same route even. Variety is the spice of life as they say.
    4. I love the fact that it is a total ice breaker. You could turn up on a boat on your own, and by the end of the day have a whole host of new friends and dive buddies.
    5. It is just so pretty! The coral reefs and tropical fish that we get here in Sharm el Sheikh are just so full of colour and life that it takes my breath away, even after having lived here for six years.

    1. Diving allows me to feel like I AM one of the marine creatures around me. It is amazing to swim among the ocean dwellers and have them approach, investigate, and accept us. We get to be part of a unique ecosystem and experience the world from their perspective.
    2. Diving is a group sport, but allows for personal experiences. Everyone comes back with a different story, as well as a shared experience.
    3. Diving is my zen – when the pace of the business world gets to frenetic – there is nothing like a few days of diving to put perspective back in place.
    4. I love to photograph the fish and reefs, they are so colorful and diverse – and a challenge to capture the feeling of the dive.
    5. No matter where I go, I always find good friends and great company. The immediate companionship you find on a dive boat is unmatched by any other recreational activity.
